Pianist Sarah Gao, born in 1994 in Harbin, China, discover her musical gift at age five, and won her first city piano competition by the age of 10. At 12 years old she entered Beijing’s China Conservatory to study with Professor Qiu Wang. In 2014, Gao moved to Boston to attend New England Conservatory in the studio of professor Gabriel Chodos.
Ms. Gao has participated many masterclasses such as with Alan Chow and Barry Snyder and one of the selected pianist in summer festivals such as RPPF (Rebecca Penny Piano Festival) and Beijing International Music Festival. She has performed piano recitals, piano duo, and chamber music concerts around the California, Boston, and Florida in the United States and Beijing, Shanghai, and Harbin in the China.
In addition, Ms. Gao is an orchestral pianist currently working with NEC Philharmonia Orchestra, NEC Symphony Orchestra, and NEC Wind Ensemble. She performances in many concerts with conductors, such as Ken-David Masur, Hugh Wolff, Jefftry Kahane, Andrew Litton, Viktor Hartmann, David Loebel, and Charles Peltz in Jordan Hall. Gao is also in the CPP (Community Performances & Partnerships) Program for 2 years that she and her viola partner have been performed in different place with different program. However, Gao is current Piano Instructor in GIPAC (Global Intercultural Performing Arts Cast). Most of her students achieved ABRSM (Associated Board Royale School of Music) Piano Exam in different level.
